About the Role

As a Case Officer, you will work directly with children, young people and families who are experiencing multiple and complex needs. Through intensive case management, assessment, advocacy and coordinated intervention, you will support families to improve wellbeing, strengthen protective factors and achieve sustainable outcomes.

Working across schools, community settings and outreach environments, you will provide practical and therapeutic support while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.

What You'll Be Doing

- Deliver high-quality, client-centred case management services
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, safety planning and risk assessments
- Develop, implement and review individualised case plans
- Support children and families who may be impacted by trauma, family conflict, disengagement from education, child protection concerns or youth justice involvement
- Facilitate referrals and coordinate supports across government and community services
- Provide advocacy, practical support, life skills education and parenting support
- Build strong partnerships with schools, child safety services, health providers and community agencies
- Maintain accurate case notes, client records and reports in line with funding and compliance requirements
- Participate in collaborative case reviews and contribute to continuous service improvement

What We're Looking For.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma or higher qualification in Community Services, Human Services, Mental Health, Youth Work, Counselling, Social Work, Family Intervention or a related field
- Current Working With Children Check (Blue Card)
- Current Open Driver Licence
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required screening and suitability checks

Highly Regarded

Experience working within child protection, family preservation, youth justice or family support programs Knowledge of the Safe & Together model, Strengthening Families Protecting Children framework, or similar evidence-based approaches Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families Group facilitation and life skills program delivery experience

Essential Experience

- Minimum 3 years' experience working with children, young people and families experiencing complex needs
- Demonstrated experience delivering intensive case management and client-centred support
- Strong understanding of child protection, family support and trauma-informed practice frameworks
- Experience undertaking risk assessments, safety planning and managing complex case loads
- Proven ability to engage vulnerable clients and build trusting professional relationships
- Experience working collaboratively with government departments, schools, health services and community stakeholders
- Strong report writing, documentation and case note management skills
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and practice standards within the community services sector
