About Us:
ATS Building Products is a dynamic National Timber and Building Products supplier with branches in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. We are a major supplier to both residential and commercial builders with a growing Frame & Truss division.
About the role:
This is a full-time, permanent position for someone with experience in designing timber trusses, wall frames and floor systems. The role is fully on-site, five days a week, giving you hands‑on involvement with our production team and the opportunity to see your designs come to life, with the following responsibilities:
- Wall Frame, Frame & Truss designing, estimating and detailing for Commercial and Domestic builders
- Technical design and documentation of jobs through engineered truss and frame software (Multinail or similar)
- Liaising with clients, drafters, designers, builders and architects
- Identifying cost reduction opportunities through design/layout optimisation
- Comply with ATS Building Products policies and procedures surrounding Chain of Custody and Forest Stewardship Council requirements.

Skills and experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in timber wall frame, truss or structural timber design
- Able to comprehensively read Architectural and Engineering building plans
- Proficient with CAD-based design/layout software and drafting/detailing workflows.
- Excellent communication skills in dealing with both internal and external customers
- Experience with Multinail Systems preferred (MiTek and Pryda also highly regarded)
