Speech Pathologists – Southern Adelaide – Junior & Senior – Kids to Adults

Pick your piece of the puzzle

Writing a job ad for speech pathologists is a little intimidating. You're the communication experts, after all. So we'll keep it simple: we're a warm, down-to-earth allied health team in Southern Adelaide, we're growing, and we'd love more Speech Pathologists to join us - whether you graduated last year or you've been doing this long enough to have strong opinions about core boards.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, cultures, genders, ages, sexualities and abilities. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTQIA+ folks, people with lived experience of disability, and anyone returning to work after a career break are all warmly encouraged to apply. If you need any adjustments during our recruitment process, just let us know - we're happy to make that happen.

Just starting out?

You'll get structured supervision, a mentor in your corner, a caseload that builds at a sensible pace, and a team who still remember exactly what their first year felt like. New grads genuinely welcome and we mean it.

Been around the block?

Bring your expertise and we'll give you room to use it – mentoring a graduate Speech Pathologist, getting stuck into project work, and growing towards leadership if that's your thing.

Somewhere in between?

Perfect. We'll shape the role around where you are now and where you'd like to go next.

About us

Jigsaw Therapy is a small, close-knit allied health team supporting children, adults and families across Southern Adelaide. We take a tailored, person-centred approach - helping people build confidence, independence, and more choice and control over their lives.

We advocate with and for people with disability, so that every person we work with is heard (and we take that word pretty seriously around here). Kindness, collaboration and genuinely listening sit at the heart of what we do – for our clients and for each other.

Where you'll be working

Clinic, community, or a bit of both – it's your call. We'll shape your work setting around what suits you, your caseload and your life.

In our clinics

Based at our Morphett Vale or Christies Beach clinics.

Out in the community

Therapy where life actually happens - in homes, kindies, schools, workplaces and community spaces - so strategies stick in the places they matter most.

Or a mix

Plenty of our team split their week between both.

Who you'll be working with

From toddlers finding their very first words to adults discovering new ways to be heard, our clients span the whole lifespan. You can lean into paediatrics, adults or a mix of both, with a caseload shaped around your strengths, interests and experience.

What a week might look like

- Early childhood intervention (0–7 years) - play-based therapy
- Speech, language and communication assessments across all ages
- Functional therapy that fits real life - at home, kindy, school, work and out in the community
- Mealtime and feeding support and intervention
- Social communication and pragmatic support
- AAC assessment, implementation and training - helping every person find a way to say what they want to say
- Literacy and language intervention
- Coaching families, carers and support workers so the good work keeps going between sessions
- Teaming up with Occupational therapist, Physiotherapist and other allied health colleagues
- Sessions in our clinics, out in the community, or both - depending on the setting you choose

For senior clinicians

mentoring and supporting a Graduate Speech Pathologist, plus project work as needed

What's in it for you

- Market-competitive salary plus a professional development allowance
- Quarterly mental health allowance – you look after everyone else, so we'd like to look after you
- Regular supervision and access to senior clinicians, including our Speech Pathology Clinical Lead
- Manageable caseloads designed for quality, not quantity
- Flexible hours and hybrid options – part time (3 days per week) or full time
- Admin support, so you spend more time doing therapy and less time wrangling the calendar
- A warm, collaborative team where your ideas are heard (and actually used)

About you

- Hold a tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology
- Have SPA membership (or eligibility) – new grads, this means you too
- Have any amount of experience – we'll match the support to where you're at
- Have feeding experience or training – a bonus, not a dealbreaker
- Enjoy working in a clinic, out in the community, or both
- Communicate with warmth, clarity and professionalism – we suspect you've got this one covered
- Enjoy working alongside families, educators and allied health teams
- Know your way around the NDIS – or are keen to learn, and we'll support you either way
- Are organised, proactive and values-driven
- Hold (or are willing to obtain) a Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening
- Have Australian working rights

On driving

community-based work needs a driver's licence and access to a reliable car. If you're keen on a clinic-based role and driving is a barrier, get in touch anyway – we're happy to talk through what's possible.

Your application will include the following questions:

- Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
- How many years' experience do you have as a speech pathologist?
- Do you have a current Australian driver's licence?
- Do you own or have regular access to a car?
