North Shore Kids Therapy is a neurodiversity-affirming, multidisciplinary allied health practice supporting children, adolescents, and families across Sydney’s North Shore. The team provides Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Behaviour Support, Early Intervention, and parent coaching for young people with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, developmental delays, anxiety, and emotional regulation challenges. Practice approaches are grounded in neuroscience, sensory integration, developmental frameworks, and trauma-informed, relationship-based care. The team focuses on understanding each child’s nervous system, sensory profile, environment, and relationships to create sustainable change in regulation, participation, and confidence across home, school, and community settings. Services include clinic-based therapy, school and community support, and sensory gym sessions, delivered through a strengths-based, neuro-affirming lens that respects each child’s individuality and empowers caregivers.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Paediatric Occupational Therapist role based in Artarmon, NSW. The Occupational Therapist will provide assessment and therapy for children and adolescents with diverse needs, including autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, developmental delays, and emotional regulation challenges. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive OT assessments, developing evidence-informed intervention plans, delivering individual and group therapy sessions (including sensory gym-based work), and documenting progress and outcomes. The role involves collaborating closely with families, educators,



and other allied health professionals to create practical strategies that support participation across home, school, and community settings. The therapist will also contribute to early intervention programs, parent coaching, and multidisciplinary case discussions, while upholding neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and strengths-based practice.

Qualifications

- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration (or eligibility for registration) with relevant professional bodies (e.g., AHPRA).
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in paediatric practice, including work with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, developmental delays, and emotional regulation challenges.
- Skills in assessment and intervention for sensory integration, motor skills, functional daily living skills, play, and school participation.
- Ability to apply neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and relationship-based frameworks, with an understanding of neuroscience and developmental models.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with families, caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Competence in clinical documentation, goal setting, and use of outcome measures in line with best practice and funding requirements (e.g., NDIS).
- Capacity to provide therapy in clinic, school, and community settings, including safe use of sensory gym equipment.
- Commitment to ongoing career development, reflective practice, and evidence-informed care.
- Working with Children Check and relevant clearances; experience within NDIS or similar frameworks is highly regarded
