Role Overview:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will support the preparation of management reports, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting activities across a diverse operational environment.
You will work closely with business stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insights, assist with program reporting requirements and support key operational initiatives. The role requires someone with strong technical foundations who enjoys building relationships and partnering with non-finance stakeholders.
This is an open-ended temporary opportunity with a strong possibility of permanency for the right individual.
Responsibilities:
- Month-end accounting, including journals, accruals and reconciliations
- Preparation of monthly management reports and financial analysis
- Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Program-level and funding-related reporting
- Acquittal reporting and compliance requirements
- Supporting operational stakeholders with financial insights and decision support
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and reporting enhancements
- Assisting with the development of business cases and financial modelling where required
- Building strong relationships across finance and operational teams
Candidate Profile:
You are a driven and commercially minded accounting professional looking to develop your career within a complex, purpose-led organisation.
- CA or CPA qualification (essential)
- Strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting
- Proven month-end experience including journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Previous experience within the not-for-profit, community services, healthcare, aged care, education or government-funded sectors will be highly regarded
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
- A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to transition into Finance Business Partnering
