This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. You'll be working alongside experienced tradespeople and contributing directly to the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of pump systems.
Key responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Assemble and disassemble industrial pumps and components.
- Clean and prepare parts using grit blasting, chemical baths, and other methods.
- Maintain accurate quality documentation and inspection records.
- Assemble pumps on the test rig and assist with performance testing.
- Perform touch‑up painting and surface preparation.
- Carry out welding tasks as required.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Safely operate a gantry crane for lifting and moving heavy pump components.
- Support tradespeople with installations, repairs, and maintenance.
About you
- 3–5 years' experience working in a similar industrial, mechanical,
or manufacturing environment is essential.
- Valid forklift licence (LF) required.
- Experience operating a gantry crane (or willing to obtain certification).
- Reliable, hardworking, and self‑motivated.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem‑solving ability.
- Valuable communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
- Strong awareness and commitment to workplace health and safety.
