This is a hands-on, relationship-driven role where you will connect with employers, schools, and job seekers to create real employment outcomes across Queensland.

Our office is currently located in Spring Hill, Brisbane. This is a hybrid role combining office-based work, field engagement and working from home up to two days per week. Occasional travel and overnight stays away from home are required, including a small amount of additional interstate travel.

You will generate opportunities, place candidates into apprenticeships and support retention in direct employment, while also supporting pathways for international workers where appropriate.

This varied role offers autonomy and the opportunity to make a real impact in addressing industry skills shortages.

The Company:

Established in 2005, ABBTF, trading as Brick and Block Careers, is a not-for-profit organisation funded by a small training contribution on the sale of clay bricks and concrete masonry, together with a matching contribution from participating brick and concrete block manufacturers.

Our main goal is to help young Australians build a career in the building and construction industry, starting with an apprenticeship in brick and blocklaying. With strong demand for qualified brick and blocklayers, our role is to help close the skills gap through industry engagement, recruitment, and ongoing support.

What You'll be Doing:

Engage with employers to identify workforce needs and employment opportunities.

Source, screen and place candidates into apprenticeships and employment through direct employment and Group Training Organisation (GTO) arrangements.

Support the placement of international candidates with suitable employers.

Coordinate work trials, placements, and onboarding.

Build relationships with schools,



RTOs and industry stakeholders.

Attend expos and promote bricklaying career pathways.

Manage candidate pipelines and record activity through the CRM.

Support apprentice retention through ongoing engagement with apprentices and employers.

Achieve placement and engagement targets.

Assist with the delivery of ABBTF programs as required.

About You:

A strong communicator who enjoys building relationships.

Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.

Comfortable in a field-based role across Queensland, with occasional travel and overnight stays.

Hold a current, unrestricted driver’s licence.

Hold a current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or be eligible and willing to obtain one.

Organised, proactive and focused on outcomes.

Positive, professional, and adaptable.

Knowledge of the construction industry or vocational education and training (VET) sector.

Experience in recruitment, employment services or industry engagement.

Exposure to apprenticeships, GTO models, or workforce solutions.

Understanding of, or experience with, international workforce pathways.

Experience using CRM systems.
