Enrolled Nurse & Registered Nurse (Community In Home Aged Care)
Join our caring and dedicated aged care team as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse, offering flexible work that fits your availability while providing high‑quality clinical support to help our clients maintain their independence at home.
Summary:
- Role: Enrolled Nurse & Registered Nurse - Casual (with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position after six months, based on performance).
- Where: We support customers across Adelaide and aim to schedule your shifts within your local area, with no more than 25 minutes of driving.
- Pay: EN rates start at $50.73 per hour including casual loading + penalties + superannuation / RN rates start at $67.30 per hour including casual loading + penalties + superannuation
- Shifts: Regular Monday to Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, with occasional weekend shifts.

Duties and responsibilities include:
- Travelling between customer’s homes and providing individual and personalised support to customers in accordance with their support plans and/or medical practitioner’s directions.
- Working under the guidance and supervision of medical practitioners, working with allied health professionals, monitoring and communicating the customer’s condition, and other health and wellness related activities.
- Demonstrating a commitment to best practise, ensuring that all services are provided in a caring and respectful way in accordance with Just Better Care’s policy and procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Medication Administration and Complex Clinical Care i.e. palliative care, bowel care/suppositories, catheter care, stoma care, oxygen and more
- Monitoring and communicating on the customer’s wellbeing and reporting on progress of customers
- Ensuring that all services are provided in a caring and respectful way in accordance with Just Better Care’s policy and procedures, legislative requirements and program specific guidelines (i.e. DVA Community Nursing)
- Providing training, coaching and guidance to Community Support Professionals and Support Staff/Case Managers as required
- Conducting skills assessments of Community Support Professionals performing complex care services as required
- Demonstrating a commitment to best practice and evidence of continued professional development
- Participating in staff meetings and attending training opportunities when required
About you:
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven relationship management with all internal and external stakeholders, as well as good interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Comfortable using technology (i.e. mobile devices) for accessing rosters & recording customer assessments & documenting feedback
What you will need:
- Current Enrolled Nurse registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Criminal Record Check
- Updated First Aid, CPR & Manual Handling Certificates
- Current Driver's License
- Reliable access to a roadworthy vehicle.
- Smart phone with internet access
- Previous experience in the community care or health/aged care sector

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in delivering direct patient care in a Community industry. RNs are responsible for assessing patients' conditions, implementing nursing care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role demands a combination of clinical knowledge, compassionate patient care, and effective communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment & Monitoring :
- Conduct thorough physical assessments of Clients.
- Monitor and document vital signs, symptoms, and changes in Clientsconditions.
- Evaluate lab results, diagnostic tests, and clinical data.
- Visiting community and SIL houses in a regular basis.
Care Planning & Coordination :
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, other healthcare providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
Medication Administration :
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physicians’ orders.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects.
- Maintain accurate medication records and ensure proper handling of medications.
Clients' Advocacy & Communication :
- Serve as the primary advocate for patient needs, concerns, and rights.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families.
Infection Control & Safety :
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Assist in the prevention of hospital-acquired infections.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and patient care standards.
Documentation & Record Keeping :
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care documentation.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and hospital standards regarding documentation.
Emergency & Critical Care :
- Provide emergency care in critical situations, including CPR and life‑saving measures.
- Assess, stabilize, and monitor patients in emergency settings.
Skills Required:
Education :
- A validBachelor’s degree in Nursing orAssociate Degree in Nursing (ADN) .
- Must hold a valid and activeRegistered Nurse (RN) license in the state or region of employment.
Experience :
- Previous experience in Community nursing.
- Experience in specific specialties (e.g., ER, ICU, Pediatrics) may be required based on department needs.
Skills :
- Solid clinical assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in fast‑paced environments.
