We’re seeking a skilled, motivated Boilermaker/Fitter to join our advanced manufacturing team in Thornton, NSW. This hands‑on role suits someone who thrives in a contemporary, innovative workplace. You’ll deliver high‑quality fabrication, welding and fitting projects while gaining experience with robotic welding technology. Experience fabricating structural steel and pipework is essential.
Key responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld pipework, plate and structural steel
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Measure, cut, prepare and assemble steel components
- Operate welding equipment safely and to a high standard
- Conduct quality checks and ensure compliance with WHS standards
- Help set up, operate and troubleshoot robotic welding systems
- Assemble valves, flanges and fittings onto prefabricated pipework
- Perform basic mechanical fitting and maintenance
- Support lean manufacturing and improve workshop efficiency
Requirements
- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Fitter (required)
- Proven fabrication and welding skills; FCAW and GMAW proficiency required, with GTAW or MMAW experience highly regarded
- Ability to interpret technical and engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety
- Positive, team‑oriented attitude and willingness to learn
- Legal right to work in Australia
Highly Regarded (but not essential)
- Experience with robotic welding or automated manufacturing systems (highly regarded)
- Knowledge of modern manufacturing workflows and lean practices (highly regarded)
- Current forklift licence (highly regarded)
- Current MR truck licence (highly regarded)
