Public Sector People are working with a QLD State Government Department, based in Brisbane CBD who are seeking an experienced A04 People & Culture Officer on atemp contract until 24th December 2026 with the chance to extend.

Here are the details of the role:

- Role title : A04 Human Resources
- Pay : $60 per hour per hour + 12% super
- Location : Brisbane CBD
- Start date : ASAP
- Contract length : Initial contract until 24th December 2026 +extension
- Hours : 36.5 hours per week Monday to Friday – two days from home

The ideal candidate will be an organised and proactive HR professional with experience providing advice and administrative support across a range of human resource functions. They will possess a sound understanding of public sector employment frameworks (or ability to learn quickly), demonstrate strong attention to detail, and have the ability to review legislation, awards, directives and policies.



The successful candidate will be able to manage competing priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, build effective stakeholder relationships, and communicate confidently with employees, managers and external service providers.

What you will be doing:

- Coordinate and support recruitment, onboarding and appointment processes, including role descriptions, pre-employment checks and commencement activities
- Liaise with external service providers to ensure payroll, establishment and employment transactions are processed correctly.
- Maintain personnel records, HR databases and workforce information systems, ensuring a high standard of data integrity and compliance.
- Support learning, development, induction, communication and employee engagement activities across the organisation.
