The Role

We are seeking an experienced WHS Case Manager to join a small Australian Government agency.

This is a full-time APS6 position based in Canberra and may be undertaken via an s26 transfer or a non-ongoing engagement.

The position plays an important role in supporting a safe, healthy and productive workplace, providing specialist advice and case management across WHS, injury management, rehabilitation and return-to-work matters.

You will work closely with employees, managers, health practitioners, rehabilitation providers and other external stakeholders to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Managing WHS, injury management and rehabilitation cases, supporting effective return-to-work outcomes.
- Providing specialist WHS and wellbeing advice to employees and managers.
- Supporting WHS and wellbeing initiatives that promote a positive safety culture.
- Undertaking WHS risk management and assurance activities, including incident reporting, investigations and workplace assessments.
- Supporting WHS governance, compliance, reporting and case management requirements.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including rehabilitation providers, health practitioners and Comcare.
- Contributing to continuous improvement across WHS,



wellbeing and injury management practices.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

- Experience in work health and safety, injury management, rehabilitation, return-to-work or a related field.
- Robust stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Experience managing sensitive and complex cases with confidentiality, professionalism and empathy.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is ideal but not essential
- Knowledge of the Comcare scheme and rehabilitation case management principles.
- Experience in injury management, return-to-work coordination or workplace wellbeing programs.

To be eligible for this role, applicants must:

- Be an Australian citizen.
- Have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
- Satisfy the requirements of an Australian Federal Police Check.
