Already the go-to person? Make it official.

Comlink Australia and our frontline teams support older Australians to keep living independently at home. They deserve leaders who know their people, back them and help them get better.

Could this leader be you?

Are you the person that people call when they need a second opinion? Do you know how to calm things down, get people moving in the same direction and work out what needs to happen next?

Now you can make it official.

We’re looking for a Team Leader of In-Home Care to support good people to do valuable work.

Your focus will be the people delivering frontline care: coaching them, backing them and making sure they have what they need to support clients well.

Think less “boss”. More ‘‘go-to person’’.

Where you’ll make your mark

You’ll lead and support an incredible team of frontline employees working independently across the local community.

That means:

- Coaching, mentoring and developing the team
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding, in conjunction with the Team Manager
- Helping manage performance, compliance and employee wellbeing
- Keeping your team connected, supported and in the loop
- Staying close to what’s happening on the ground - what’s working, where people are getting stuck and what needs attention before it becomes everyone’s problem
- Providing assistance with frontline duties, training and support to the team during busy periods
- Providing admin support the Team Manager and completing other duties associated, as requested

You’ll be challenged, stepping into more complex situations involving employees, clients or families. You’ll need to balance empathy with safety, make valuable decisions,

and know how to de-escalate rather than add more heat.

Part-time role:

We are looking for a part-time team leader, ideally 8am - 4pm Mon, Wed, Fri, however we are flexible around these days and hours.

Skills get you shortlisted. Your style gets you hired.

Credentials matter, but how you lead matters more. To thrive in this role, you’ll be the person who:

- Earns trust quickly, gives it generously and builds the kind of environment where the team can do their best work
- Steps up without being asked, and keeps every promise made to clients, clinicians and colleagues
- Brings energy and a sense of humour to work. You can read the room and know when it’s right to have a laugh
- Stays curious. "What If we tried this" is a question that you ask often (and you enjoy answering!)
- The ability to juggle competing priorities – onboarding, compliance, people issues and the inevitable curveball – while accepting that the beautifully organised plan you started with may have other plans by 9:07am!

What you’ll bring

You’ll have relevant experience in community care and a strong understanding of what good frontline support looks like, along with:

- Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support or similar. Other relevant qualifications (e.g.; Leadership, Management, Industry related qualifications) would be beneficial
- Strong communication,

organisation and people skills
- Confidence coaching, mentoring and supporting performance
- Sound judgement and the ability to stay level-headed under pressure
- Confidence using apps, systems and technology
- A current Open Driver Licence with an acceptable traffic history
- Willingness to undergo NDIS worker screening and First Aid and CPR certification
- A sound understanding of aged care quality requirements, professional boundaries and safety

Formal leadership experience is great, but it’s not the only thing we’re looking for.

We’d love to hear from the people who are already doing a lot of this unofficially. The ones that others trust, call for a second opinion and know will help.

Why you’ll love it here!

You’ll join a team that believes good leadership should make people feel more capable, not more managed.

You’ll also have access to:

- Not-for-profit salary packaging
- Paid training and development
- Paid birthday leave
- Matched voluntary super contributions of up to 1%
- Employee Assistance Program
- Opportunities to build your leadership capability and step into broader responsibilities

Why Comlink?

Our frontline teams support older Australians to keep living independently at home. They deserve leaders who know their people, back them and help them get better.

That’s the kind of leadership we’re looking for.

No hero complexes. No gold stars for struggling quietly. No need to make leadership weirdly formal.

If you can balance culture, safety, empathy, quick decisions, difficult conversations and a bit of fun - ideally before your morning coffee - we reckon you’ll fit right in.
