The role of Assets Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate asset financial information and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. This role involves providing timely reports, maintaining the integrity of core financial systems, and offering valuable advice to internal stakeholders.
As an Assets Accountant, you will engage in various duties including general ledger reconciliations, asset fair value revaluations, and delivering financial reports in accordance with legislative requirements. Your expertise will help shape the financial strategy of our organisation while contributing positively to our community.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
Applicant Profile
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- a degree qualification in Finance or Accounting, or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing career development
- significant experience in financial modelling and analysis and the proven ability to interpret financial information into recommendations
- experience in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, variance analysis, investigations, recommendations and sustainable solutions for the organisation
- The ability to plan and prioritise, time manage, organise workloads and demonstrate ownership and accountability for own work performance in order to meet priorities, goals and legislative timeframes
- The ability to work with staff at all levels of the organisation and the ability to provide timely, accurate and effective financial advice and support
- experience, knowledge and understanding of the legislative and reporting framework for Local Government which includes but is not limited to Australian Accounting Standards, Local Government Act 1993, Local Government (General) Regulation 2005, Local Government Code of Accounting Practice and Financial Reporting, OLG Guidelines, Ministers Orders and Circulars, Public Finance and Audit Act 1983, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Water Management Act 2000.
The commencing salary for this position is up to $96.6k per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $112k on completion of assessment of skills and/ or performance plus 12% superannuation
- We have a permanent full-time role available
- This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
- We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite
- This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
