About CPR

CPR Façade Upgrade Specialists is a family-owned Australian remedial building and façade contractor with more than 30 years' experience delivering complex façade remediation, building upgrades and maintenance projects across NSW and the ACT with current expansion into QLD.

We specialise in solving difficult building-envelope and façade problems, particularly across existing and occupied buildings. CPR has a long-established capability using our own scaffold-free access technologies, including PEARS® and the SkyPod® Building Remedial Workstation, and an in-house developed assessment and QA platform (AIMMS™).

About the Chance

We are looking to establish an ongoing relationship with a registered Building Practitioner to support CPR on projects requiring Building Practitioner involvement under the relevant NSW regulatory framework.

Engagement will be on a casual/project basis, with the opportunity for the relationship to grow alongside CPR's building project pipeline.

The Building Practitioner will work with CPR's existing Licensed Building Supervisor, Project Management team and newly recruited Project Builder, together with affiliated Design Practitioners, engineers and other specialist consultants.

Where appropriate, we would value the successful practitioner contributing their broader building experience in a consultative and advisory capacity.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the project and applicable regulatory requirements, responsibilities may include:

- Act as the registered Building Practitioner for nominated CPR projects where required.

- Undertake Building Practitioner responsibilities in accordance with the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 , associated regulations, NCC and other applicable NSW building legislation.

- Review regulated designs, construction documentation, specifications and relevant Design Practitioner documentation prior to and during construction.

- Work collaboratively with registered Design Practitioners, engineers, consultants and CPR's project team.

- Undertake required inspections and maintain oversight of building work throughout project delivery.

- Support the management of variations or changes affecting regulated designs.

CPR's work primarily involves existing residential, commercial, institutional and mixed-use buildings. Experience working with Class 2 residential buildings is particularly relevant , with exposure to other NCC building classifications — including Classes 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 — advantageous as CPR's project portfolio continues to expand.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will need to hold the registrations and licences necessary to undertake the agreed Building Practitioner responsibilities for applicable CPR projects.

Ideally, you will have:

- Current registration as a Building Practitioner – General in NSW

- Current NSW contractor licence for general building work

- Demonstrated experience delivering or supervising building construction, remediation, refurbishment or building-envelope works.

- Strong working knowledge of the Design and Building Practitioners regulatory framework, NCC and relevant Australian Standards.

- Experience with waterproofing, cladding, façade remediation, concrete repair, structural remediation or other building-envelope works highly regarded.

- Clear communication and documentation skills.

- Current White Card, driver's licence and ability to attend Sydney project sites as required.

The Person We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who takes their responsibilities as a Building Practitioner seriously and wants to be appropriately involved in the projects for which they are engaged, while also being comfortable working collaboratively with an established project team.

This role would be well suited to an experienced Building Practitioner who works in a consulting capacity supporting small to medium building contractors, or an established industry professional seeking a more flexible, project-based role where their experience can add genuine value.

Why Work With CPR?

Work with an established delivery team
You will be supported by CPR's Project Management and Operations teams, licensed Building Supervisor/NQS, Project Builder, Safety team and affiliated Design Practitioners and consultants.

Opportunity for an ongoing relationship
Our requirement for Building Practitioner involvement is growing with our project pipeline. We are looking for someone with whom we can establish continuity rather than source a different practitioner for every project.

Influence a growing capability
Bring your building knowledge to a specialist contractor that is actively developing its broader remedial building capability.

Engagement & Fees

This is a casual/project-based engagement. Remuneration will be structured as a fee per project , with the scope and fee agreed based on the nature of the project, required level of involvement, site attendance, duration, complexity and Building Practitioner responsibilities.

Fee: Open for discussion.
