Where you'll be working
Join Westmead Hospital, part of Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD), and play a key leadership role supporting the delivery of safe, responsive and efficient hospital services. You’ll work across a complex healthcare environment, partnering with clinical and corporate teams and leading a dedicated wardsperson workforce.

- Lead day-to-day wardsperson operations in a busy hospital environment.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple teams.
- Foster a positive, respectful and inclusive workplace culture aligned with WSLHD CORE values.
- Support a culture of safety, accountability, learning and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to quality improvement, accreditation and person-centred care initiatives.

What you'll be doing
As Wardsperson Co-Ordinator, you’ll provide operational leadership and strategic direction to wardsperson services, ensuring high-quality service delivery while managing resources, performance and competing priorities.

- Coordinate daily wardsperson operations, resources, equipment and service requirements within budget.
- Lead, coach and support supervisors,



team leaders and staff to achieve service and performance objectives.
- Monitor KPIs, service outcomes and operational activity, identifying opportunities to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Manage service issues, complaints, incidents and stakeholder requests, using feedback to strengthen service delivery.
- Champion quality, safety, risk management, training and continuous improvement across the department.

License: Class 1A non-restricted

Selection Criteria:

- Tertiary qualification in management and/or significant experience in management of a service/operation.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, particularly in managing staff resources, to ensure provision of high-quality focused customer services.




- Demonstrated strategic planning and management skills and the capacity to lead the development and implementation of a complex and visionary strategic integrated action plans designed to address key challenges and experience in leading major change.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyse financial data for a large department.
- Proven ability to direct interpersonal communication, negotiation, influencing and motivational skills which demonstrate a capacity to build and maintain relationships with a diverse stakeholder group.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, HPEC, Health Roster, and use of financial management systems.
- Demonstrated experience working with senior executives, clinicians and managers within a large complex environment, with a proven track record in building rapport and establishing trust.
- Ability to work seven-day rotating roster and to work in various locations/shifts to meet the demand of services.
