The Motor Trades Association of Queensland (MTAQ) supports employers across Queensland's automotive industry. This role involves recommending and contributing to the delivery of effective workplace relations solutions for members. You will assist with the development and implementation of appropriate and effective employee relations strategy for members' businesses, and provide specialised expert industrial relations advice through identifying key industrial relations risks, opportunities and challenges including interpretation issues, application of Awards and Agreements, employment conditions and policies, procedures, systems and programs.
Key responsibilities
- Recommend and contribute to the delivery of effective workplace relations solutions for members
- Assist with the development and implementation of appropriate and effective employee relations strategy for members' businesses
- Research and assist preparation for matters before industrial or related tribunals and prepare correspondence, submissions and briefs as required
- Monitor and evaluate any changes affecting industry and provide education awareness and guidance in written and verbal form
- Identify opportunities to develop and sell commercial products and services
- Maintain systems for identifying trends and patterns in employee relations issues and recommend strategies to apply advantageous developments or overcome any negative trends
- Record all details of interactions in the Customer Relationship Management system
- Develop written guidance and advice for business on a broad range of topics
- Respond to Fair Work matters and represent businesses at Fair Work conciliations
- Host meetings including facilitation and presentations to large groups on matters relating to workplace relations
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Industrial Relations, Employment Law or other relevant field
- 2+ years' experience in Employment Relations/Industrial Relations positions
- Exceptional written skills to develop articles, reference and guidance material relating to matters affecting industry
- Ability to react to current and changing issues and provide timely advice
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to build relationships with business
- Highly resilient with robust drive and attention to detail
