About Larrakeyah
Larrakeyah Health Centre is located at the Larrakeyah Barracks in Darwin City. Larrakeyah Defence Precinct is a unique tri-service Defence base directly supporting ADF operations & training. It is the home port of HMAS Coonawarra for Navy Patrol Boats and two Army Landing Craft. The facility has a routine dependency of 1100 personnel which surges every 3 months to conduct pre and post deployment medicals. The health centre provides primary medical, nursing, mental health, dental, physiotherapy and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 - 15:30 Monday - Friday (depending on role requirements).
What You'll Do
- Deliver clinical dental services to Defence members
- Provide a full range of general dental care including examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning and preventative care
- Undertake procedures such as restorations, extractions, root canal treatments, periodontal care and minor oral surgery
- Promote and maintain oral health through patient education, preventative strategies and ongoing care
- Use diagnostic tools including dental imaging to support clinical decision-making and treatment planning
- Maintain accurate clinical records using Defence eHealth systems and ensure compliance with governance frameworks
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to support optimal patient outcomes
What You Bring
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Dentist with AHPRA
- Minimum two years' full-time (or equivalent) post graduate clinical experience, with recent practice within the last five years
- Solid clinical capability across a broad range of general dentistry procedures
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certification
- Australian Citizenship required for baseline security clearance
- Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
