Placement Details
- Role: Registered Nurse
- Unit: Day Surgery Unit
- Facility: Mackay Base Hospital
- Contract Dates: 26 October 2026 – 8 November 2026
Roster & Hours
- Rotating 6, 8, 10 and 12-hour shifts
- 24/7 ward workplace including early, late and night shifts
- Maximum 80 hours per fortnight
- May be required to work across other wards if needed
Essential Requirements
Candidates must:
- Have relevant Day Surgery/acute nursing experience
- Be ieMR trained and confident using the system (highly desirable)
- Not be a Queensland Health employee (unless employed casually)
Desirable Experience (2 minimum)
- Previous experience in Australia
- Previous Queensland Health experience
- Previous Mackay HHS experience
- Strong knowledge of ieMR
Mandatory Competencies
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Manual & patient handling
- Infection control & hand hygiene
- Child abuse and neglect mandatory reporting
- Occupational Violence Prevention Training
- Medication management including QPHS regulations
