Tobwabba Aboriginal Corporation Medical Service – Forster NSW
The Clinical Psychologist will provide culturally safe psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based treatment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the lifespan. The role will work closely with GPs, nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers and Practitioners, Social and Emotional Wellbeing staff and other Tobwabba programs to provide coordinated, holistic care.
Key responsibilities
- Psychological assessment and treatment
- Risk assessment and safety planning
- Trauma-informed care
- Referral coordination
- Clinical documentation
- Medicare-funded psychological services where applicable
- Clinical governance and quality improvement
- Contribution to community-based mental health and social and emotional wellbeing initiatives
About you
- Current general registration as a psychologist with Ahpra
- Current endorsement in Clinical Psychology with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Strong clinical assessment and therapy skills
- Experience managing complex mental health presentations and clinical risk
- Strong commitment to culturally protected practice with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Experience within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service, Aboriginal health, primary care or community mental health is highly regarded
