About the Role – Strategy & Reporting Advisor

The Strategy and Reporting Advisor supports the delivery of STC projects by preparing high-quality briefing and decision-making materials for internal government stakeholders. The role also provides strategic support to governance and interdepartmental committees and contributes to key planning and reporting functions including the STC Corporate Plan, Business Planning and Annual Report.

Working in a complex and sensitive environment, this role partners closely with senior executives and requires strong governance expertise, excellent communication skills, and highly developed stakeholder management abilities. This is an prospect for a proactive and capable professional who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver clear, strategic advice.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and coordinate high-quality briefings, reports, correspondence and other documents to support STC’s strategic, operational and governance priorities.
- Support the development, implementation and review of key planning and reporting documents, including the Corporate Plan, Annual Business Plan, Strategy and Annual Report.
- Provide high-quality secretariat and governance support to committees and forums, including the preparation of agendas, papers, minutes, action registers and presentations.
- Conduct research and analysis, and synthesise complex or technical information into clear, accessible advice and materials for a broad public sector audience.
- Support stakeholder engagement activities by preparing briefing materials, coordinating information requests and assisting with timely follow-up actions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning, reporting, governance and administrative processes to enhance organisational effectiveness.
- Provide research, policy analysis,



document preparation and administrative support to the Strategy, Planning and Development team and other areas of STC as required.
- Apply sound judgement, initiative and adaptability in a dynamic and changing environment to respond to emerging issues and support team objectives.

You are a highly organised and adaptable person who enjoys working with people, building strong relationships and supporting good decision-making. You communicate clearly with a range of audiences, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and can turn complex information into practical, easy-to-understand advice in a complex environment.

Your proactive, resilient and collaborative approach, together with a commitment to continuous improvement and learning new ways of working, will be a strong asset in this role.

Qualifications & Professional Experience

Required:

- A relevant tertiary qualification / Bachelor or higher qualification in politics, economics, law or a related field or discipline.
- Previous experience working within the Victorian Public Sector in a similar role, with a robust knowledge of Victorian Government decision-making frameworks
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure delivery and management highly regarded
