No teaching experience? No worries. We value your real‑world industry experience. We'll provide a fully funded TAE40122 qualification and support you every step of the way while you're employed and earning.

Your week Your full-time workload is structured to recognise both your time teaching and the work that happens outside the classroom.

- 36.25 hrs/week (full-time) covering teaching, preparation, marking and student support.
- Teaching time is typically 22 hrs/week, with up to 25 hrs by agreement – no more than 9 teaching hours in a day.
- Prep and marking are included as part of your paid workload – not additional unpaid work on top of your allocated hours.
- Flexible start and finish times , planned around teaching needs, with flexibility supported where possible to accommodate personal, family and carer responsibilities.

What you'll need

- Possession of a relevant qualification in automotive heavy vehicle, mobile plant and diesel engine technology, diesel fitting engineering or similar. Dual-trade candidates, particularly those with an Auto Electrical or another complementary trade, will be highly regarded.
- Current hands‑on industry knowledge and experience in the maintenance, diagnostics, fault finding, repair, testing and commissioning of heavy vehicles and mobile plant, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems and associated electrical and electronic control systems.
- An interest in mentoring apprentices , sharing your knowledge and guiding learners in both workshop and classroom settings.
- A positive can‑do attitude with the ability to be a team player .
- No teaching experience required – only a willingness to work in a structured setting with assessment, documentation and student support.
