Help Older Australians Live Safely and Independently at Home
At Sarah Cobbett Occupational Therapy, we specialise in helping older Australians remain protected, comfortable, and independent in their own homes.
We're looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who enjoys Assistive Technology, home modifications, functional assessments, and working closely with clients and their support networks to achieve practical outcomes.
This is a community-based role focused primarily on Support at Home clients, with a manageable caseload, genuine flexibility, and a supportive team environment.
About Us
Sarah Cobbett Occupational Therapy is a specialist community OT practice supporting older Australians throughout South East Queensland.
Our work mix consists of:
- 10% Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)
- 5% Insurance-funded clients
- 3% NDIS
- 2% Private clients
The majority of our clients are aged 65+ who wish to remain living safely and independently in their own homes.
Our work focuses on practical outcomes that genuinely improve everyday life.
What You'll Be Doing
Your caseload will primarily involve:
Assistive Technology Assessments
- Mobility equipment recommendations
- Pressure care assessments
- Seating and positioning
- Daily living equipment
- Falls prevention strategies
Home Modification Assessments
- Minor home modifications
- Major home modifications
- Bathroom accessibility solutions
- Ramps and access improvements
- Environmental modifications
- Collaborative work with builders and suppliers
Clinical Reporting
- Writing reports to justify Assistive Technology funding
- Developing recommendations for Support at Home, DVA and other funding streams
- Preparing home modification reports
- Liaising with care managers, families and funding bodies
This role provides an enjoyable balance of client interaction, clinical reasoning, report writing and project-based work.
What Your Week Might Look Like
- Conducting in-home assessments across the community
- Working from home completing reports and administration
- Attending team meetings and clinical discussions
- Visiting our office when required
- Collaborating with suppliers, builders and care providers
- Supporting clients to access the equipment and modifications they need
You’ll have flexibility to structure your week around client needs, family commitments and personal responsibilities.

- $90,000 – $115,000 + Superannuation

About You
- Is a qualified Occupational Therapist with current AHPRA registration
- Has experience working with older adults in the community
- Enjoys Assistive Technology and Home Modifications
- Can confidently write high-quality clinical reports
- Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Works well independently while remaining connected to a team
- Hold a current Australian driver's licence
- Has or can obtain a National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Experience with Support at Home Packages, Veterans, community aged care, equipment prescription, or home modifications will be highly regarded.
