JOB OVERVIEW

You are a highly experienced project manager who can lead complex work, manage competing priorities and maintain delivery momentum with sound judgement and independence. You understand how to bring structure to a project environment, manage a budget, control risk and keep multiple workstreams moving.

You will be comfortable leading through influence, working across several projects at once, and translating project detail into clear advice for senior stakeholders. You can manage schedules, budgets, procurement dependencies, contract obligations, supplier performance, stakeholder expectations and governance requirements without losing sight of the practical outcome.

You are organised, resilient and proactive, with strong written and verbal communication skills, sound financial awareness and the ability to make balanced recommendations in a complex delivery environment. Relevant experience may include property, construction, facilities, accommodation projects, leasing, procurement, contract management, government operations or project governance.

DUTIES

As an EL 1 you will be required to:

- Lead a varied national program of property and accommodation projects from planning through to delivery, applying EL1-level judgement to set priorities, manage delivery risk and maintain strong project governance.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, delivery partners and suppliers to shape fit-for-purpose workplace solutions across DVA’s national property portfolio.
- Turn project complexity into transparent plans, decisions and actions by managing risks, issues, dependencies, briefings and senior stakeholder updates.

- Develop and maintain project artefacts, including schedules, budgets, risk registers, issue logs, decision records, status reports and governance papers.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, financial approvals, procurement activity, contract management, supplier performance and reporting to support value for money, probity and accountable delivery.
- Oversee contract deliverables, variations, milestones, performance issues and commercial dependencies, escalating matters early where delivery, budget or probity risks emerge.
- Apply sound understanding of leasing, property operations and government requirements to support practical, compliant and commercially informed project decisions.
- Build trusted relationships across business areas, enabling services and project teams to resolve issues early and keep delivery moving.
- Provide clear, evidence-based advice to senior leaders on project performance, emerging risks, delivery options, budget pressures and recommended decisions.
- Contribute to a mature, consistent and well-documented project delivery approach across the Property Projects function.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

Highly Desirable

- A Diploma of Project Management or a qualification in property, construction or a related discipline is highly desirable but not mandatory.
