The iconic Blazing Stump Hotel in Wodonga is looking for an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our kitchen.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a chef who takes pride in delivering consistently high-quality food, developing their team and maintaining strong kitchen standards.

We are seeking a passionate professional that is organised and self-motivated with strong leadership qualities. We are looking for someone who not only maintains our great quality and consistency, but who also brings their knowledge of contemporary trends, contemporary twists, and flair.

The role:

Lead the team, ensuring food preparation, cooking, and presentation is consistently high.

Supervise staff and coordinate all activities pertaining to food preparation.

Plan, develop and cost menus. Ordering, receiving, and checking of deliveries and other stock.





Lead and teach other kitchen employees in the preparation, cooking and presentation of food.

Strong leadership, administration and Management control

The Person:

Reporting to the General Manager you will be able to work a rotating roster over 5 days including lunch and dinner.

You must be passionate about food and able to lead by example, with drive, enthusiasm, and attention to detail.

You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to motivate and develop staff, and be adept at maintaining a positive team environment.

You must have the ability to work under pressure.

You will have successfully completed Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery.
