About the role

The Team Leader Governance provides strategic leadership and direction for the operation of our corporate governance function. The role promotes excellent governance practices, ensuring systems, policies, and procedures are in accordance with legislative requirements and the Corporation’s needs.

In this role you will provide high level support to the Board of Directors through assisting with the preparation and distribution of agendas, reports, and minutes to ensure the smooth operation of Board meetings.

This role is a full-time opportunity , including a monthly RDO and flexible work options.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring the quality and timeliness of Board and Committee agendas, papers and workshop materials including overseeing their preparation and distribution.

Attending meetings to accurately record and promptly circulate minutes, actions and resolutions.

Planning and managing the Board and Committees’ annual calendar.

Developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to corporate governance.

Overseeing and maintaining corporate governance registers including conflicts of interest, gifts, benefits and hospitality and annual declarations.

Providing support and strategic advice to stakeholders on corporate governance principles and governance matters, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.

Developing and delivering corporate governance training programs and information sessions.

Supporting the Manager Governance, Risk & Communications with the administration of the Internal Audit function.





Leading and maintaining our corporate bookshelf and partnering with leaders to monitor currency and adoption of policies and procedures.

Processing requests made under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 and Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 within statutory timeframes.

Identifying and implementing improvements to Board governance and integrity processes and systems.

Key Selection Criteria

Extensive experience in governance and board/committee support, preferably within the Victorian public sector.

Experience providing leadership, support and guidance with the ability to train employees.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality board papers.

Demonstrated ability to undertake and coordinate activities, procedures and documents required to achieve and promote good governance practices across an organisation.

Demonstrated ability to effectively use computer software and systems including agenda and minute management systems, Microsoft Office suite of programs and electronic document management systems.

Position Information

An attractive salary range of $117,141 to $131,260 plus 12% superannuation, depending on skills and experience.

This is a full time, ongoing position.

Successful applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including a police check and/or pre-employment medical and functional testing where applicable.
