Take your workplace design experience to the next level
This Melbourne team does it differently. Strategy, interior design, cost estimation and delivery sit under one roof, so clients see designs they can afford before they commit, and what gets designed is what gets built, to the highest quality standard.
As a Senior Interior Designer, you'll lead interior projects, from the first client brief through concept, documentation and delivery. You'll make the design calls, present proposals, own the client relationship, and direct a junior designer and documenter. Reporting to the division lead, you'll have the independence to run your projects without waiting for day-to-day instruction, supported by a team of Juniors to Mids and Delivery support.
Already a Senior, or ready to become one?
If you're an experienced Senior, this role gives you the full project lifecycle in an integrated environment. If you're a strong mid-level designer with design and construct workplace experience and solid Revit skills, who has led small to mid-size projects and is ready to jump up in scale, we want to hear from you. This is a genuine step-up opportunity, with hands-on responsibility and support to grow your leadership and client-management capability.
What you'll do
- Lead commercial interior projects from initial brief through concept development, documentation and delivery
- Translate client and workplace requirements into considered design concepts and proposals
- Present to clients and project teams,
explain your design decisions and respond to feedback
- Manage client relationships across the life of each project
- Stay hands-on in Revit when projects need it, or lead documenters depending on resourcing / project size
- Work with estimation and delivery colleagues to resolve issues and protect design quality through construction
- Guide and develop junior team members while balancing several active projects
What you'll bring
- Senior-level interior design experience, or mid-level experience with a track record of D&C; workplace projects and a clear readiness to step up
- Strong client-facing skills, including presenting ideas and pitching proposals (essential)
- Design and construct commercial experience, ideally including client-facing involvement
- Proficiency in Revit and the ability to work hands-on in design and documentation (essential)
- Confidence leading work from the initial brief, rather than only developing work defined by others
- Curiosity, adaptability and the ability to work independently within a cooperative team
What's on offer
- Salary of $100,000-$140,000 + superannuation, depending on experience
- Genuine client leadership, with support from the division lead and wider team
- A leadership role within project teams, and within the Melbourne studio
- Integrated delivery with strategy, design, estimation and construction working together
- Hybrid working for work/life balance
