The Pharmacist - Warehouse Operations runs the distribution centre and is accountable for every medicine that enters, sits in and leaves it. The role combines day-to-day operational leadership with the professional judgement of a registered pharmacist. You will lead receiving, storage, picking, dispatch and returns for scheduled and unscheduled medicines, including controlled drugs and cold chain products. You will keep the site licensed and audit-ready, and make the final call when product quality or lawful supply is in question. Success means pharmacies and hospitals receive the right product, in full, on time and in the condition the manufacturer intended.

Key responsibilities

- Lead inbound, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, dispatch and returns across all shifts.
- Plan labour, space and equipment to meet daily order cut-offs and seasonal peaks.
- Maintain stock accuracy through cycle counting, stocktakes and investigation of variances.
- Enforce first-expired, first-out rotation and manage short-dated, expired and quarantined stock.
- Work with procurement, transport and customer service to resolve supply and delivery issues.

- Keep the site compliant with the Australian Code of Valuable Wholesaling Practice for Medicines in Schedules 2, 3, 4 and 8.
- Maintain state or territory wholesale licences and meet all licence conditions.
- Confirm that every customer is authorised to receive the schedules of medicine ordered before supply.
- Hold accountability for the Schedule 8 vault: access control, receipt, storage, picking and dispatch.
- Keep controlled drug registers accurate and reconciled, and report losses or discrepancies to the regulator.

About you

- Bachelor or Master of Pharmacy.
- Current general registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (Ahpra), with no conditions that limit the role.
- Working knowledge of the Code of Good Wholesaling Practice, the Poisons Standard and state or territory medicines legislation.
- Hands-on experience managing Schedule 8 medicines and cold chain products.
- Experience hosting regulatory or customer audits.
- Proficiency with a warehouse management system and inventory reporting.
- Professional integrity, operational judgement, attention to detail, leadership, communication and problem solving skills.
