What You'll Be Doing
The Speech Pathologist - ICU / Acute is an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team, providing high quality Speech pathology services primarily to intensive care and acute patients.
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Extensive post graduate clinical expertise in the assessment and management of adult dysphagia and communication disorders within the inpatient acute setting.
- Specify proven VFSS competency and experience,
completed competency framework.
- Demonstrated proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Extensive broad generalist knowledge, clinical proficiency and ability to work with minimal supervision, and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to effectively prioritise and organise own work / caseload across a regional area.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development, lead planning and evaluation of team activities, quality improvement and evidence based practice.
- Demonstrated ability to provide and coordinate staff and student supervision.
- Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
