Program Manager, SA - Therapeutic Residential Care (12 month contract)

ICS is a boutique, secular, social purpose organisation delivering high-quality, evidence-informed services across South Australia and Queensland. We specialise in trauma-informed child and family services, including Out-of-Home Care, Family Support, and Disability Supports.

ICS' residential care services work with children, young people and families to identify and address therapeutic needs, as well as to support a transition to family-based care settings. The multi-disciplinary team includes Care Practitioners, Residential Coordinators, Therapeutic Intervention Workers, Program Managers and the General Manager.

About the role

The Program Manager contributes to the effective and efficient operations of allocated programs, ensuring the programs are delivered in a manner congruent with service agreements, operational plans, regulatory requirements, as well as the relevant practice model and methods to ensure the needs of children, young people and their families are met, giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential. The role is available for 12 months (as a backfill).

Who we're looking for

Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (Social Work, Psychology/Human Services) or related discipline.

Demonstrated skills and experience in working with children and families, around the management of children with behaviours of concern and/or family intervention.

A minimum of 2 years' experience in similar management role within a Not for Profit/Non-Government Organisation with a focus on evidence-based practice.

Excellent operational leadership and management skills, with the capacity to translate strategies into operational activities.

Experience in evidence-based practice and evaluation in a human services context.

Experience in financial, risk, property and human resource management.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organisation.

Ability to understand complex issues, draw conclusions and articulate clear and focused positions to wide and diverse audiences.

Demonstrated intermediate ability to use computer IT systems including MS Word and Excel.

Have and maintain a South Australian Driver Licence.





Have a Working with Children Check and child protected environments certification.

Ability to apply for any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.

Key focus areas

The role is dynamic, busy and fast-paced, requiring a high level of agility, professionalism and organisation. Tasks and responsibilities include:

Contribute to the effective and efficient operations of the child protection residential care services operated by IC.

Provide specialist casework advice and make appropriate casework decisions, including rostered after-hours on-call support.

Provide effective leadership and program management to ensure high quality service delivery, as per the specifications, requirements and performance indicators defined within the service agreement, relevant practice requirements and any other relevant program and/or organisational documentation in order to effectively respond to client needs.

Develop and assist in the management of systems to maintain data and statistics to inform service delivery and contribute to accountability for outcomes achieved.

Maintain and demonstrate accountability for resources within the programs, including staffing, physical resources, and monetary resources in line with IC delegations of authority.

Assist with the monitoring of compliance with policy, procedures, work instructions, and other organisational and legislative requirements.

Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to prepare, undertake and maintain external licensing/accreditation requirements.
