Abrs are looking for an experienced leader to join our client on an interim, casual assignment with the potential to be considered for a permanent position !
About the chance
We are seeking an experienced Interim Manager, Children & Families Programs to provide leadership across two established early intervention and family-focused service streams for an initial 10-12 week engagement, commencing as soon as possible.
This is an opportunity for an experienced leader who can hit the ground running, provide stability and direction across two different team environments, and support the continued delivery of high-quality outcomes for children and families.
You will oversee a mixed portfolio, including an experienced team of early intervention practitioners, alongside a recently established team working within a family-focused service. You will be well supported by your direct manager, peers and a strong back-office team, including administration support.
For the right person, there may be an opportunity to apply for a permanent position.
Key details
- Position: Interim Manager, Children & Families Programs
- Location: Upper North Shore
- Engagement: Casual, approximately 12 weeks
- Start: ASAP
- Hourly rate: $72.69 per hour + super + salary packaging
- Travel: Some travel may be required across the Northern Sydney, Northern Beaches and Hills District areas, with travel expenses reimbursed
- Potential: Opportunity to apply for a permanent position
- Support: Strong support from your direct manager, leadership peers and back-office administration
About the role
- Providing day-to-day leadership,
guidance and oversight to multidisciplinary children and family services teams
- Supporting practitioners to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed and family-centred services
- Coaching, mentoring and developing team members to build capability and confidence
- Ensuring programs are delivered in line with organisational policies, relevant legislation, contractual requirements and best practice
- Monitoring program performance, KPIs, outcomes and service delivery against agreed targets
- Supporting teams to work effectively with children, young people and their families using a whole-of-family approach
- Monitoring and contributing to program logic, outcomes measurement and reporting
- Identifying and addressing operational risks, service delivery issues and emerging practice needs
- Supporting effective stakeholder relationships and collaborative practice across internal and external services
- Providing regular reporting and updates to the Executive Manager
About you
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a related discipline
- Demonstrated formal leadership and people management experience within a relevant children, families, community services or early intervention program
- Experience leading practitioners delivering services to children and whole families
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation, safeguarding and mandatory reporting
- Experience managing program KPIs, performance measures and service outcomes
- Understanding of program logic, outcomes measurement and reporting requirements
- Strong operational and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to build trust quickly and establish credibility with an experienced team
- A collaborative and strengths-based leadership approach
- The confidence to work autonomously and make sound decisions in an interim leadership capacity
- A current NSW Working with Children Check, Full Drivers License and ability to commence ASAP
