The Discipline of Commerce invites applications for casual (sessional) Lecturers to teach and coordinate units in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) at our Sydney, Parramatta and Dandenong campuses.
We are seeking business academics with expertise in one or more of the following teaching areas:
- Management, Strategy and Leadership
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Finance, Accounting and Economics
- Marketing and Digital Business
- Operations and Project Management
- Business Analytics and Information Systems
About the role
Lecturers will teach assigned units of study face-to-face on campus and contribute to their review and delivery, ensuring alignment with all quality measures and governance requirements. Lecturers work closely with Unit Coordinators to deliver quality outcomes and an excellent student experience. Lecturers who hold unit coordination responsibility will also oversee the teaching team, maintain and update unit materials, and ensure unit-level quality assurance and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development, review and updating of unit content, including learning materials, lecture slides, activities and assessments, in line with unit learning outcomes and discipline standards.
Deliver engaging lectures, workshops, seminars and tutorials in your area of expertise, integrating current industry practice and case studies.
Provide high-quality instruction and support to postgraduate students, many of them working professionals, in an inclusive learning workplace.
Mark and moderate assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Offer consultation and guidance to help students achieve their academic and professional goals.
Participate in unit review, moderation and staff meetings as required, and uphold academic integrity standards.
A successful candidate will have
PhD or DBA in a business discipline relevant to the teaching areas, or equivalent professional standing.
Demonstrated tertiary teaching experience, ideally at postgraduate or MBA level.
Strong knowledge of your discipline, supported by teaching, research and/or industry experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Right to work in Australia.
Experience in developing unit or course content (e.g. learning materials and assessments).
Professional credentials or affiliations (e.g. CPA, CA ANZ, CFA or PMP).
