This is an entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the medical device industry. As a Production & Supply Chain Assistant, you will support the Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams at our Sydney site - from purchase orders and goods receipt through to the assembly of medical equipment in a sterile laboratory environment. You will receive hands-on training and structured competency assessments, working closely with experienced colleagues across Supply Chain, Quality and Manufacturing.
Key responsibilities
- Generate purchase orders and communicate with suppliers in line with business procedures.
- Receive incoming goods, ensure appropriate storage, and apply material controls per approved procedures.
- Act as a contact point between suppliers and internal stakeholders; maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Support approved supplier listings within the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Prepare stock for customer order fulfilment - packaging and dispatching on time, directly or via 3rd-party logistics providers.
- Support import and export requirements and liaise with distributors and 3PLs as required.
- Maintain and update the ERP system; support stock and cycle counts; generate business reports to identify risks and opportunities.
- Assemble medical equipment under aseptic conditions, following all safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Support facility cleaning schedules and complete critical logs in real time.
- Record incidents and deviations,
and assist with investigations, corrective actions and audit preparation.
About you
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- An understanding of ERP computer systems.
- Knowledge of the principles of transporting goods by various means, including import/export regulations.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines.
- Excellent work ethic, a can-do attitude and solid organisational skills.
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing (desirable).
- Experience with aseptically filled products in a cleanroom / sterile environment (desirable).
- Working knowledge of enterprise planning (ERP) systems (desirable).
- Familiarity with a Quality Management System (ISO 13485 / GMP environments) (desirable).
