Mountleap & Company is partnering with a rapid-growing Australian caravan and RV business to appoint an experienced Service Manager for its Brisbane operations.
This is not a purely office-based management position.
We are looking for a hands-on Service Manager who can lead the day-to-day operation of the Service Centre while also actively carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repairs and technical work when required.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical capability with team leadership, customer service and operational management skills.
Due to regular communication with the company’s China-based manufacturing, supply chain and technical teams, professional working proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English is required for this position.

The Role
As Service Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day performance of the Service Centre, ensuring customer vehicles are serviced and repaired efficiently, safely and to a high standard.
You will lead technicians and service staff, coordinate workshop workflow, manage customer communication and personally assist with technical servicing and repair work.
This position is ideal for an experienced automotive, caravan, RV or mechanical professional who has progressed into leadership but still enjoys being hands-on.
Key Responsibilities
Service Centre & Workshop Management
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Service Centre
- Plan, schedule and allocate servicing and repair work
- Coordinate technicians, service staff and external contractors where required
- Monitor workshop workflow, productivity and job completion
- Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timeframes
- Maintain an organised, productive and professional workshop environment
Hands-On Servicing & Repairs
- Personally undertake servicing, diagnostics and repair work when required
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and general caravan/RV issues
- Carry out repairs, adjustments, maintenance and rectification work
- Support technicians with complex technical issues and troubleshooting
- Conduct inspections and quality checks before vehicles are released
- Identify recurring technical issues and assist with root-cause resolution
- Ensure repairs meet company, manufacturer and safety standards
Customer Service
- Manage customer enquiries relating to servicing, repairs and technical issues
- Provide customers with clear updates regarding repair progress, costs and expected completion times
- Handle complaints and escalated service matters professionally
- Ensure customers receive a high standard of after-sales support
- Build long-term customer confidence through reliable and professional service
Parts, Warranty & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate parts requirements to minimise workshop delays
- Work closely with Parts, Warranty, Supply Chain and other internal teams
- Support warranty assessments and rectification work where required
- Liaise with China-based manufacturing, technical and supply chain teams regarding technical issues, parts and product improvement
- Communicate recurring product or quality issues to relevant stakeholders
Leadership & Performance
- Lead, coach and support technicians and service team members
- Set clear expectations around productivity, workmanship and customer service
- Monitor workshop performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Reduce rework and improve first-time repair quality
- Support recruitment, onboarding and development of service team members as the operation grows
- Maintain appropriate WHS, workshop and company compliance standards
About You
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Service Manager, Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor, Senior Technician, Mechanic or similar
- Strong hands-on servicing, diagnostics and repair capability
- Experience within the caravan, RV, automotive, trailer, mechanical or related industry
- The ability and willingness to work on vehicles rather than only managing the workshop
- Strong technical problem-solving and fault-diagnosis skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capability
- Strong planning, scheduling and organisational skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of workshop productivity and cost control
- Good computer literacy and administrative capability
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- Current Australian working rights
Language Requirement
Professional working proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English is required.
You will regularly communicate with Australian team members and customers as well as China-based manufacturing, technical and supply chain teams. The ability to communicate technical and operational matters clearly across both languages is therefore an important requirement of the role.

- 12V electrical systems
- Caravan appliances and accessories
- Plumbing and water systems
- Chassis, suspension and braking systems
- Warranty and technical fault diagnosis
- Pre-delivery inspection and rectification
- Caravan towing
