My Skincare Manufacturer

Maitland

My Skincare Manufacturer is an Australian skincare manufacturer operating under ISO 22716 Cosmetic GMP.

We are looking for a practical, technically minded Cosmetic Batch Maker / Compounder to join our manufacturing team in Beresfield.

This is a hands-on role working directly with our Chief Manufacturing Officer to manufacture a wide range of skincare and personal-care products.

You do not need previous cosmetic manufacturing experience.

What is more important is that you have genuine experience working with a structured batch or process environment where you have needed to accurately weigh, measure, dispense, mix and follow a defined sequence.

Relevant backgrounds may include food or beverage manufacturing, brewing, pharmaceutical production, chemical blending, commercial ingredient manufacturing or another controlled batch-processing environment.

We are particularly looking for someone who is careful, communicative and willing to learn. You need enough confidence to ask questions and raise concerns, while also understanding that manufacturing processes are followed as instructed and changes are never made without approval.

About the role

You will work closely with the Chief Manufacturing Officer while developing your skills across skincare compounding and GMP manufacturing.

Your work will include:

- accurately weighing and dispensing raw materials

- preparing materials, vessels, utensils and batching equipment

- manufacturing products according to approved batch documentation and instructions

- working with water-based, oil-based, gel, emulsion, powder and anhydrous systems

- monitoring temperatures and other process requirements

- completing batch and GMP documentation accurately and in real time

- maintaining raw-material identification and traceability

- completing cleaning and sanitisation requirements

- assisting with in-process checks such as pH and viscosity once trained

- communicating clearly about batch progress, unusual observations or anything that does not appear correct

- supporting controlled documentation and approved process improvements

- following GMP, hygiene, WHS and quality requirements

- assisting with other production activities when required

You will receive training in MySM's manufacturing processes, equipment and quality systems. Greater independence will come as you demonstrate competency in each area.

What we're looking for

You do not need to arrive knowing how to manufacture skincare. We can teach the cosmetic-specific processes.

You do need some practical experience in batch or process-based production.

You will suit this role if you:

- have experience weighing, measuring or dispensing ingredients or raw materials as part of a production process

- understand that sequence, quantities, timing and process instructions matter

- can follow written and verbal instructions carefully

- communicate clearly when something is unclear

- ask questions rather than make assumptions

- accept technical feedback and apply corrections constructively

- are comfortable being trained and supervised while developing competency

- pay close attention to detail and documentation

- are organised and clean in your work

- take responsibility for reporting mistakes or unexpected results promptly

- work calmly and cooperatively as part of a small manufacturing team

- are comfortable with physically active work and extended periods on your feet

Previous experience with emulsions, pH measurement, viscosity testing, GMP or cosmetic manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.

A forklift licence is also advantageous but not required.

Physical requirements

This is a physically active manufacturing position.

The role includes regular handling of raw materials and containers, including materials weighing approximately 20–25 kg, using appropriate manual-handling techniques, team assistance and handling aids where required.

Larger materials are moved using appropriate mechanical equipment.

Hours

38 hours per week, Monday to Friday

What we offer

- $65,000–$72,000 + superannuation at 38-hour

- permanent employment chance

- practical on-the-job learning in cosmetic manufacturing and ISO 22716 GMP

- work closely with an experienced manufacturing lead while developing independence

- exposure to a broad range of skincare products and manufacturing processes

- opportunity to develop specialist cosmetic batching and compounding skills

- clean, organised manufacturing environment

- no regular weekend work

- on-site parking in Beresfield

- a small team where good communication and reliable work are valued

Our approach to manufacturing

Quality manufacturing requires more than simply following a recipe.

We value people who pay attention, communicate clearly, document their work accurately and speak up when something does not look right.

Previous experience is valuable, but so is the ability to learn and follow the processes and requirements of a new workplace.

If you enjoy practical process work, take pride in accurate manufacturing and are interested in developing specialist skincare manufacturing skills, we would like to hear from you.
