The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Civil Inspector to join our growing team and step straight into hands‑on civil infrastructure project delivery. As a FIFO Civil Inspector, you’ll work side‑by‑side with project managers and technical specialists, rotating through transport, council works, water and regional development streams.
You’ll be responsible for monitoring construction activities, verifying quality, safety and compliance requirements, tracking site progress, maintaining accurate project records and supporting the construction administration. You’ll contribute to high-quality project delivery from start to finish, gaining hands‑on experience with all stages of the project lifecycle and building the skills to progress into a senior inspector role.

Who You Are
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision or above is highly desirable
- Passionate about infrastructure and community impact
- Quick learner with strong practical and problem‑solving instincts
- Excellent communicator, confident writing site reports and speaking with crews
- Team player who thrives on collaboration and feedback
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all construction works, materials and equipment comply with contract specifications, approved quality requirements and positive construction practices.
- Monitor site activities, labour, plant and construction progress against the approved program, maintaining accurate daily records, progress reports and as‑constructed drawings.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and Cultural Heritage requirements, promptly escalating any issues.
- Verify that all contractor quality assurance requirements are approved and in place prior to works commencing and throughout construction.
- Support the project manager with the assessment of variations and extensions of time, while ensuring project deliverables are achieved effectively and meet the clients expectations.
What We’re Looking For
- 5-12 years of experience in civil infrastructure project delivery, ideally in a client‑side or consultancy environment
- Strong understanding of construction processes
- Confident communicator who can engage with stakeholders, consultants, and contractors
- A proactive attitude and willingness to grow into leadership responsibilities
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate III & IV in Civil Construction Supervision or above is highly desirable
- Experience with local government, TMR, or regional infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with construction contracts, specifications and quality assurance requirements relevant to civil infrastructure projects
