MyPeople Disability and Support – Preston VIC

Location: Preston VIC 3072 and surrounds

We are seeking reliable and experienced Disability Support Workers across Preston VIC 3072 (and surrounds) and the surrounding areas to provide ongoing support for our NDIS participants.

We have ongoing work available across a range of locations, with hours and schedules varying by participant. Shifts and support types vary depending on individual needs, and we will match you with work that suits your availability, skills and preferred area.

This is a outstanding opportunity for someone who is compassionate, reliable and professional, and enjoys making a genuine difference in the lives of people within the disability sector.

- Personal care, including showering, dressing and grooming
- Assistance with daily living tasks and domestic assistance
- Community access — supporting participants to attend appointments, social outings and activities
- Assistance with meal preparation
- Support with daily planning, decision-making and budgeting
- Transport assistance to and from appointments and activities
- Companionship and social support
- Assisting participants to build skills and independence in line with their goals
- All tasks are performed in line with the participant's preferences, routine and care plan, with the focus on supporting their independence wherever possible.

About you

- Reliable and punctual
- Experienced in disability support,



aged care, or a related field
- Comfortable working independently in a participant's home and community
- Friendly, respectful and professional
- Respectful of participant choice, control and privacy
- Able to remain calm and adaptable in a range of situations
- Available for ongoing work

Requirements

- Previous experience in disability support, aged care, nursing or a related field highly desirable
- Full Australian working rights
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain
- Reliable transport and current driver's licence
- Experience working with NDIS participants is highly desirable. If you also have cleaning or domestic assistance experience, there may be opportunities for additional hours.
