House of Bungalow is preparing to open its basement nightlife venue in Surry Hills. We’re looking for an Assistant Nightlife Manager to work closely with our Nightlife and Entertainment Manager and help lead the venue from opening.

This is a hands‑on second‑in‑command role. You’ll lead service, set the standard for the team and take responsibility for the venue when the Nightlife and Entertainment Manager is away. We’re looking for someone who understands that a strong night is built through preparation, good decisions and genuine hospitality.

The role

You’ll oversee the bar and floor team during service, from pre‑shift briefing through to close. You’ll manage guest flow, VIP bookings and bottle service while maintaining the atmosphere and standards expected of the venue.

Beyond service, you’ll support recruitment and training, manage rosters and timesheets, oversee stock and cash procedures, and help deliver events and private bookings. You’ll work closely with DJs,



security, the kitchen and the wider management team to keep each night running well.

About you

You’ve led shifts in a busy bar, restaurant or nightlife venue and are ready to take the next step. You’re composed under pressure, clear with your team and confident making decisions on the floor. You care about the details, but you also know how to read a room and create a great experience for guests.

You’ll need a current NSW RSA, full Australian working rights and availability for late nights, weekends and public holidays. Cocktail, spirits, VIP service or venue-opening experience would be an advantage.
