HIJ Group Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Chef specialising in Indian cuisine to join our team in Auburn. The successful applicant will report to the Head Chef and assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of high-quality Indian dishes.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and cook curries, biryanis, tandoori dishes, Indian breads, sauces and marinades.

Assist with menu planning and food costing.

Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation.

Supervise and train kitchen staff where required.

Assist with stock control and ordering.

Maintain food safety, hygiene and WHS standards.

Support daily kitchen operations and assist the Head Chef as required.

About you

Minimum 3 years of relevant Chef experience.

Robust experience in Indian cuisine.

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, or Higher.

Strong knowledge of Indian ingredients, spices and cooking techniques.

Ability to work in a busy commercial kitchen.

Available to work days, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
