Harwel Lifts & Hoists is seeking a person to join our team for a wide-ranging role as Truck Driver/Factory Hand/Groundsperson, based in Gloucester. You will be responsible for transporting lift and hoist components across NSW and the ACT from our factory in Gloucester, assisting with installation and dismantling work on site, and maintaining factory operations and grounds.
Key responsibilities
Load trucks (Hino/Iveco) with other drivers and factory hands, ensuring loads are secured and safety procedures are followed
Unload at destination with crew and assist on site to assemble framework
On occasion, assist site tradesmen with installation of lifts or dismantling of old lifts and removal of components to recycling facility
Assist factory tradesmen in the Gloucester workshop as directed by Production Manager
Maintain factory grounds (grass mowed, materials sorted and taken to recycling centre)
Ensure trucks are cleaned, roadworthy (tyres, service records) and refuelled on return to Gloucester
Inspect ratchet straps prior to each use and store correctly
Adhere to safe work practices in the factory, grounds and on job sites
About you
Safe driving record and adherence to all road rules
LR (Light Rigid) Driver's Licence required; training and licencing will be provided to the right applicant if they don't currently have an LR licence but qualify to apply
Able to work as part of a team and be entrusted to work with minimal supervision
Strong focus on safety and ability to identify and act on non-compliant issues
Enthusiastic, motivated and proactive
Ability to stay away overnight, or 3 to 4 nights during the week for bigger jobs if required
Forklift licence an advantage; training and licensing will be provided to the right applicant
Willing to undergo a police check, obtain a Working With Children Check and undergo a pre-employment medical
