Your Impact in This Role

The Team Leader oversees the day-to-day running of our Garden Cafe, ensuring our trainees' experience is enriched through positive learning outcomes. The team leader provides leadership and guidance to all staff to deliver best practice outcomes and foster a positive working environment.

What can I expect in a typical day working as a Team Leader at the Garden Cafe

Leading, supporting and mentoring a team of staff and Trainees

Creating a positive, inclusive and productive café environment

Supporting Trainees to develop hospitality and employment skills

Preparing a range of café food including cakes, sandwiches, wraps and other light meals

Maintaining high standards of food safety, presentation and cleanliness

Rostering and coordinating staff

Ordering and monitoring stock and supplies

Managing day-to-day administration and café records

Working collaboratively with the broader Compass team

About You

What are the requirements to become a Team Leader?

Minimum 2 years' experience working with people with disability





Experience leading or supervising a team

The ability to confidently operate a small commercial kitchen

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent organisation and time-management skills

A positive, patient and supportive approach

The ability to work independently and make sound day-to-day decisions

Solid administration skills – experience with rostering, ordering, stock management and record keeping will be highly regarded

Cert III Individual Support Qualifications (or equivalent)

NDIS Workers Clearance Check

Working with Children Check (Blue card)

Current QLD Licence and own vehicle

First Aid & CPR

Access to own vehicle and Comprehensive car insurance
