Good fabricator? Ready for a bit more responsibility?
We're looking for an experienced fabricator who knows their trade, takes pride in their work and is the sort of person others naturally turn to when something needs sorting out.
If you're a strong fabricator who can read drawings, organise your work, spot problems before they become problems and help keep a workshop moving, we'd like to hear from you.
This is still very much a hands-on role. You'll be welding and fabricating alongside the team, but you'll also help oversee jobs, check quality and keep things moving in the right direction.
What you'll be doing
- Welding and fabricating as part of the day-to-day workload
- Reading and working from fabrication drawings
- Helping organise workflow and job priorities
- Checking completed work and maintaining quality
- Keeping jobs moving and helping the team stay on schedule
- Supporting and guiding other fabricators
- Working closely with management on day-to-day workshop production
Who we're looking for
You'll ideally be someone who:
- Is an experienced and confident fabricator/welder
- Takes pride in producing quality work
- Can work things out without needing to be constantly supervised
- Notices mistake before they cost time and money
- Is organised and understands workshop efficiency
- Is reliable and turns up ready to work
- Can communicate with the crew
- Is happy to lead from the floor and still get their hands dirty
Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience is great, but we're also very interested in experienced fabricators who are ready to step up.
What you'll get
- Stable full-time work
- A smaller workshop where you're not just another employee number
- Variety in the work
- Quality Australian-made products and projects
- The chance to have genuine input into how jobs are run
We're not looking for someone to stand back and point. We're looking for someone who can build, think, organise and lead.
