- ExcitingPart‑time, 12 month maximum term contact (due to parental leave) with aninnovative, well respected Local Council

Your Position:

As our Children’s and Youth Service’s Librarian,



you willsupport Council's vision and leadership in the delivery of high qualitycollections, services and programmes for children and young adults.

You will engage and partner with relevant Councildepartments as well as local community organisations to broaden capacity anddeliver enhanced programmes that are vibrant and relevant to the needs of ourchildren and young people. The role will participate in the Library andCommunity Hub Customer Care Roster.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limitedto:

- Develop anddeliver high-quality customer-focused services, programs and collectionsfor children and young adults, including early literacy programs, to meetthe education, informational, cultural and recreational needs of theBurwood community.
- Collaboratewith the Library and Community Hub team to ensure delivery of high-qualitycustomer experiences through outstanding customer service, information andadvice regarding the Burwood Library and Community Hub services, programs,activities and events.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Passionateabout supporting children and young people, with knowledge of currenttrends, issues, and best practice in library services.
- Demonstratedexperience in developing and managing children's and young adult librarycollections.
- Experienceplanning, coordinating, and delivering engaging library programs andactivities for children and young people.




- Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positiverelationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Highlydeveloped organisational skills, with the ability to manage competingpriorities and meet deadlines.
- Strongcritical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to make informeddecisions and solve problems effectively.
- DegreeQualification in Library and Information Studies or close to completingyour degree, recognised by ALIA.

- Acurrent Working with Children Check clearance
- Willingnessto complete a pre-employment health assessment.
