Reporting to the Village Manager, we’re seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to provide maintenance and handyman services to our boutique 49-unit retirement village part-time 4 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, repairs and inspections across common property, resident units, plant, equipment, grounds and gardens
- Establish, implement and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and inspection programs
- Respond to maintenance requests from residents, Village Management and staff in a timely and professional manner
- Liaise with, supervise and coordinate external trades and contractors, ensuring compliance with WHS requirements, policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records using computer-based systems and mobile applications
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard with minimal disruption
- Contribute to a positive community environment
Skills and Requirements
- Trade qualification in building, carpentry, plumbing and/or a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft applications, apps and maintenance systems
- Proactive, solution-focused approach with the ability to work independently
- Resilience, empathy and confidence when working with residents
- Flexibility with start and finish times when required
- Experience working in aged care or retirement living
