Oak Flats Bowling & Recreational Club is seeking a committed, passionate and inspirational Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

We are looking for someone who has a genuine passion for food , takes pride in producing high-quality dishes, is willing to learn, and enjoys working as part of a supportive team in a busy commercial kitchen.

About the Role

Working closely with our Head Chef, you will play an significant role in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring a high standard of food quality, presentation, cleanliness and service.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

- Ensuring consistent and high-quality food preparation and presentation
- Maintaining excellent cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen
- Supporting the Head Chef with the daily operation of the kitchen
- Working alongside apprentices and supporting their daily tasks and development
- Following Workplace Health & Safety and food safety standards
- Assisting with functions and busy service periods
- Working across fryers, grills, pasta and other kitchen sections
- Maintaining a positive and professional working environment




- Working efficiently during busy periods while maintaining food quality

About You

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen
- Previous experience in a Sous Chef or senior kitchen position is highly desirable
- Strong cooking skills and a genuine passion for food
- Experience with fryers, grills and pasta
- Experience working in functions and high-volume service
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- The ability to remain calm and productive under pressure
- A strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements
- A strong work ethic and positive “can-do” attitude
- A willingness to learn, grow and contribute to the team
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
