Trailer Operator | Roadside Operations

Are you an experienced driver, mechanic or transport professional looking for flexible casual work?

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Trailer Operator to join a roadside operations team based in Ingleburn .

This is a hands-on field role focused on driving, towing and safely deploying specialised trailers at locations across NSW . You will work independently in the field, follow deployment schedules and ensure equipment is safely transported and positioned at designated locations.

With approximately 16–20 hours per week across 2–3 days , this opportunity can suit someone looking for flexibility alongside other commitments.

About the Role

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Driving and towing trailers to designated locations across NSW.
- Safely reversing and positioning trailers at deployment sites.
- Completing vehicle, trailer and equipment inspections.




- Following deployment schedules and operational instructions.
- Conducting onsite risk assessments and identifying hazards.
- Working safely around moving traffic and changing roadside conditions.
- Completing safety checklists and reporting hazards or incidents.
- Carrying out basic cleaning and minor maintenance of trailers and equipment.
- Identifying mechanical or technical issues and escalating where required.
- Performing basic troubleshooting and in-field support.
- Using mobile applications and electronic devices to complete checklists, reports and operational tasks.
- Communicating with supervisors and support teams.
- Working independently while maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism.

The trailers contain a combination of mechanical, electrical, computer, camera and communications equipment, so good attention to detail and care when transporting and deploying the equipment are essential.

What We're Looking For

You will ideally have:

- Experience towing and reversing heavy trailers.
- A current driver's licence.
- Strong safety awareness.
- General mechanical knowledge or hands-on maintenance experience.
- Confidence using smartphones,



tablets and computer applications.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently in a field environment.
- A calm and professional approach when dealing with members of the public.
- Flexibility to work across different locations and operational requirements.

Experience with diesel generators, mechanical equipment, transport operations, emergency services or roadside work will be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements

- Current driver's licence.
- Demonstrated experience towing and reversing heavy trailers.
- Current White Card or happy to obtain.
- Ability to successfully complete police and driving history checks.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to travel to different locations when required.
- Flexibility to work occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends or on-call periods.
