HR Lead – Snow Australia

Position Details

- Position: HR Lead

- Reports to: Head of People & Performance

- Employment status: Permanent, part-time – 0.6 FTE (3 days per week)

- Location: Snow Australia, O’Brien Icehouse, Docklands, Victoria

- Hybrid working available by agreement

- Direct reports: Nil

Position Summary

The HR Lead supports the delivery of Snow Australia's integrated people strategy, working under the direction of the Head of People & Performance to translate strategic people priorities into coordinated, high-quality operational delivery across the employee lifecycle.

As a member of the People Development & Wellbeing team, and working alongside the People Development & Wellbeing Manager, the position coordinates people systems and processes across workforce, talent attraction and onboarding, performance and development, learning and capability, culture and engagement, people governance and systems, athlete and workforce contracting, and workplace health and safety. The role supports a national, seasonal workforce operating alongside coaches, contractors, athletes and volunteers.

The HR Lead supports the implementation of Snow Australia's People & Development Plan and People First commitment under Vision 2035, helping ensure people practices are consistent, inclusive, compliant and aligned with organisational priorities. The role maintains strong people systems, records and reporting, and works in partnership with Snow Australia's outsourced payroll and HR advisory provider and other specialist providers.

Job Responsibilities

Workforce and Employee Experience

- Coordinate talent attraction and selection processes under the direction of the Head of People & Performance, including position descriptions, sourcing, shortlisting, interviews and referee checks.

- Preparation of employment documentation and contracts for permanent, fixed-term, casual and seasonal staff.

- Coordinate structured onboarding and induction to educate employees on Snow Australia's strategy, values, expectations and ways of working from commencement.

- Coordinate offboarding, employee transitions and associated records across the employee lifecycle.

- Support workforce planning and seasonal workforce readiness through accurate workforce information, scheduling and administration.

Performance, Capability and Talent Development

- Coordinate the annual performance and development cycle, including goal setting, regular check-ins and formal review, and maintain supporting templates, tools and records.

- Support administration and continuous improvement of the KPI Framework and performance processes.

- Coordinate the annual learning and development program, Individual Development Plan administration and associated learning records.

- Support leadership, professional, coaching, technical and officiating development and accreditation activities.

- Maintain accurate capability and development data to support workforce capability and talent planning.

Culture, Engagement and People Experience

- Develop and coordinate annual engagement surveys,



including administration, reporting support and action tracking.

- Support recognition, communication and engagement activities that reinforce Snow Australia's values and desired behaviours.

- Support inclusive people practice that contribute to a positive, respectful and psychologically safe workplace culture.

- Coordinate employee feedback and people initiatives arising from the People & Development Plan.

Athlete and Workforce Contracting

- Coordinate the preparation, review and administration of annual athlete agreements, liaising with legal advisors under the guidance of the Head of People & Performance.

- Coordinate athlete contracting and induction administration, including accurate records, compliance requirements and escalation of identified issues.

- Prepare and maintain contractor, coach and volunteer engagement documentation and records.

- Work with the People Development & Wellbeing Manager and relevant leaders where contracting or induction processes intersect with athlete or workforce wellbeing requirements.

People Governance, Policy and Systems

- Coordinate the review, maintenance and communication of people policies, procedures and supporting resources, and maintain the policy register.

- Maintain HRIS and people records, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality and accurate record keeping.

- Support compliance with the Fair Work Act, modern awards, employment obligations and organisational policy, escalating complex matters to the Head of People & Performance or specialist advisors.

- Prepare people data, reporting and workforce insights for the Head of People & Performance as required.

- Coordinate with outsourced payroll, HR advisory, legal and other specialist providers on operational people matters.

- Participate and attend AIS People & Culture Network monthly meetings and opportunities as agreed.

Work Health and Safety

- Support implementation and monitoring of Snow Australia's Work Health & Safety plan and associated people-related actions.

- Maintain WHS compliance records, including policies, training, assessments and incident reporting.

- Support reporting and escalation of WHS matters to the Head of People & Performance and relevant specialist providers.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Essential

- Demonstrated capability coordinating people and culture processes across the employee lifecycle.

- Sound knowledge of people policy, governance and contract administration, with high attention to detail.

- Highly developed coordination, documentation and reporting skills, with accuracy in people data and record keeping.

- Exceptional planning,



prioritisation and time management - able to support a broad remit within a part-time role

- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, observe confidentiality and use discretion

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office 365

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team

Highly Desirable

- Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, modern awards and employment obligations.

- Experience administering or supporting an HR information system.

- Working knowledge of workplace health and safety obligations.

Education

Essential

- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Sport Management or a related discipline, (or equivalent demonstrated experience in an HR administration role).

Highly Desirable

- Progress towards, or completion of, professional membership (e.g. AHRI).

- Current Working with Children Check.

- Current driver’s licence.

Experience

Essential

- Minimum five years’ experience in a human resources or people support role.

- Demonstrated experience across HR administration, including recruitment, onboarding and employment documentation.

- Experience supporting the development, maintenance and administration of HR policies.

Highly Desirable

- Experience within a national sporting organisation, institute of sport or not-for-profit organisation.

- Experience supporting a seasonal, geographically dispersed or partly volunteer workforce.

- Experience administering athlete, contractor or third-party agreements.

- A connection to the Australian snowsports community or broader sporting sector.

Working Conditions

- Part-time position of 0.6 FTE (3 days per week), worked across a pattern agreed with the Head of People & Performance

- Office-based at Snow Australia headquarters in Docklands, with hybrid working available by agreement

- Occasional travel to Snow Australia facilities (NSTC in Jindabyne, Geoff Henke Olympic Winter Training Centre in Brisbane) and to stakeholder meetings

- Workload peaks around pre-season onboarding (April–May) and the October review cycle; a flexible approach to working patterns is required at these times

- Occasional evening or weekend commitments during events and the winter season

- Regular handling of confidential and sensitive personal information

- Adaptable approach to working hours to allow proper management of personal commitments while delivering objectives

- Engagement with staff, athletes, coaches, contractors, volunteers, institutes and government partners
