Join Our Primary Turkish Teaching Team

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Turkish Teacher to join our dynamic school community at our Kilmore Campus.

The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging Turkish language lessons that develop primary students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Through age-appropriate activities, the teacher will foster an appreciation of Turkish culture and help students build confidence in communicating in Turkish.

You will support students with a range of language backgrounds and abilities, including those learning Turkish as an additional language and those who speak Turkish at home. You will work collaboratively with staff, build positive relationships with students and families, and contribute to a supportive, values-driven learning environment.

Teachers may also undertake other duties appropriate to their qualifications, training, and experience.

Applicants must hold a recognised teaching qualification, have strong Turkish and English communication skills, and hold current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.



Experience teaching Turkish at primary level is desirable.

Key Focus Areas

Turkish Language Teaching

- Plan and deliver engaging Turkish language lessons aligned with the relevant curriculum and the school’s Turkish-English program.
- Develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through structured and meaningful learning experiences.
- Use songs, stories, games, conversation, and interactive activities to make language learning accessible and enjoyable.
- Incorporate Turkish culture into lessons to develop students’ cultural understanding and appreciation.
- Differentiate teaching to support beginners, students who speak Turkish at home, and learners with varying levels of proficiency.
- Create opportunities for students to use Turkish confidently in everyday situations.

Student Wellbeing

- Provide an environment that supports the cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and intellectual well‑being of all students, ensuring teaching practices are grounded in best theoretical and practical knowledge and tailored to each student’s development, skills, and interests.
- Identify and cater to individual learner needs by collaborating with other teachers and specialist staff, recognizing and respecting diversity and individual differences.
- Establish and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students while safeguarding their privacy and confidentiality, as well as that of their families.
- Build positive relationships with parents and guardians based on respect, mutual trust, and open communication, respecting their rights to inquiry, consultation, and information about their children.
- Acknowledge and respect the uniqueness and characteristics of each family’s background.

Professional Practice

- Participate in ongoing professional learning to strengthen Turkish language teaching and primary teaching practice.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant curriculum requirements, teaching approaches, and resources.
- Contribute to curriculum development and school initiatives.




- Participate in school activities and cultural events that support language learning and community engagement.
- Uphold the school’s child safety policies, professional standards, ethos, and values.

The Candidate

We are seeking a dedicated educator with robust Turkish language skills and a positive classroom presence—someone who communicates clearly, builds meaningful relationships, and is invested in student growth.

You Will Demonstrate

- High-level proficiency in spoken and written Turkish.
- The ability to teach Turkish effectively to primary-aged students.
- An understanding of language acquisition and strategies to support learners with different language backgrounds.
- The ability to plan engaging, age-appropriate lessons and assess student progress.
- Solid communication and organisational skills.
- Confidence using technology to support teaching and learning.
- A commitment to student wellbeing, inclusive teaching, and team-oriented practice.
- A commitment to the ethos and values of International Maarif Schools of Australia.

Essential Requirements

- Current VIT Registration (or eligibility for registration).
- Bachelor of Education or equivalent qualification.
- High-level proficiency in Turkish and effective communication skills in English.
- Right to work in Australia.
