MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS TRACK COACH

DESCRIPTION

To provide leadership, teach foundational skills, and foster a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic accountability among middle school student-athletes. To motivate players to excel at all times - during practiceand in actual competition. To motivate players to develop a feeling of cooperation and teamwork among members of the team and staff.The middle school coach will work in coordination with the high school coach to align the youth program with the high school system and will assist the head coach as necessary. The track program is an extension of the classroom and coaches must handle their approach as teachers.

JOB SUMMARY

A middle school coach is responsible for supporting the head coach by directly training players, developing strategies, analyzing opponent's strengths and weaknesses, managing practice drills, providing feedback to players,



and performing administrative tasks as directed by the head coach to ensure overall success of the team all while upholding the team's values and promoting sportsmanship.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Middle School Girls Track Coaching Experience is Required
- Valid Driver's license
- High School Diploma
- State of Ohio Pupil Activity Permit
- Federal and State Background checkSport Medicine Certified as required by the Ohio High School Athletic Association
- CPR, Concussion and any other required Training
- Ability to be cooperative in working with players, parents, administrators, and community members
- Knowledge of Cambridge City School District and Athletic Policies regarding students with respect to scholarship, personal conduct standards, health and safety factors
- Must process the knowledge and the necessary skills of the sport
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

WORKING CONDITIONS

Often subjected to extremes of cold below 32 degrees and heat above 100 degrees. Occasionally subjected to extreme noise, odors, mists, and dust. Exposure to body fluids, communicable diseases. Travel between locations may cause exposure to hazardous driving and walking conditions.
