Canberra

CDC Canberra, based out of our Queanbeyan Depot, is looking for a Finance Officer to join our Regional NSW Finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a full time position working standard Monday to Friday office hours.

Working closely with both the Finance Manager and Accounts Payable Officer and a wider team you'll be involved in a broad range of finance activities across accounts receivable, accounts payable, month-end processing and financial reporting support.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build on their accounting experience and gain exposure to the wider finance function, rather than focusing solely on transactional processing.

What You'll Be Doing

Managing accounts receivable from invoicing through to payment collection

Supporting accounts payable function as required

Preparing reconciliations across banks, cash and general ledger accounts

Assisting with month-end activities including journals, accruals and prepayments

Supporting budgeting, reporting and audit requirements

Working with stakeholders across the business to resolve finance-related queries

Identifying opportunities to improve processes and reporting

About You

Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in a Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant, AP/AR or similar accounting role.

You’ll also bring:

Accounting or Commerce qualifications (or be working towards completion)

CPA or CA studies commenced or planned

Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills

High attention to detail and accuracy

The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

A proactive approach and willingness to learn

Why Join Us?

This role offers exposure beyond traditional AP and AR functions, giving you the opportunity to develop your accounting, reporting and month-end experience while working within a supportive finance team.

Please note: a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screen) and a Police Check are required as part of our recruitment process.

CDC is an equal employment opportunity (EEO) employer committed to attracting and developing a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We encourage and welcome applications from all genders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, people who identify as LGBTQIA+, individuals with a disability, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
