We are looking for a motivated and experienced Accountant to join our team in Laverton North. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, taxation compliance, payroll-related obligations, financial reporting and liaising with external advisers and government authorities. This role would suit someone who has strong attention to detail, understands Australian accounting and taxation requirements, and is confident working independently.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS)
- Manage PAYG withholding and related reporting requirements
- Process and reconcile superannuation obligations
- Prepare and manage payroll tax requirements
- Assist with land tax matters and compliance
- Perform bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable as required
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures

About You





- Minimum 2 years' experience in an accounting or similar role
- At least a Diploma of Accounting or equivalent qualification
- Good working knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation requirements
- Practical knowledge of superannuation, PAYG, BAS, payroll tax and land tax
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience using MYOB
- Good understanding of GST, general ledger, reconciliations and financial reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

$70,000 per annum + superannuation
